A Better Alternative
Other hair removal treatments can be time-consuming, inconvenient, and often painful. Laser hair removal is fast, noninvasive, has fewer possible side effects, and can provide longer-lasting results. The treatment is so precise that it can be safely used in just about every part of your body.
How It Works
All the benefits of laser hair removal are possible because of the way that the technology works. The concentrated beam of light targets only the hair follicles, the small cavities from which hair grows. The laser is attracted to your hair's pigment, melanin, through a process called selective photothermolysis.
This makes the treatment more effective on patients who have thick dark hair and light skin because the contrast makes it easier for the laser to work. So it might not work as well for patients with darker skin, or those with lighter or red hair.
What To Expect
It can take a few sessions to get the best possible results, somewhere between six and eight. The reason for this is because laser treatment is most effective when hair follicles are at their growth stage. But not all follicles follow the same pattern and they grow at different stages at different times, that's why multiple sessions are needed.
Although results are not permanent, after all the sessions are complete results can last several months or even years, and even when hair returns it'll usually be thinner and lighter.
