Mohs Surgery
Specialized skin-cancer removal with the highest cure rate.
Mohs micrographic surgery removes skin cancer with complete microscopic examination and mapping of all excised tissue. After local anesthetic, the visible cancer and a thin surrounding layer are removed, mapped, and examined; if cancer remains, another thin layer is taken from the exact spot. It removes minimal normal tissue and provides a cure rate of more than 99% for most skin cancers. The removal itself takes 10–15 minutes; reconstruction options include natural healing, stitches, skin grafts, or flaps.
